NEW PR!!!
So yesterday morning i competed at the KU Rim Rock Classic. Great day, Perfect Weather. For those of you who don't know what i do, I run Cross Country (8k) for University of Nebraska Lincoln (Huskers). I set a new PR at this race. Previously in 2010, my last xc race, I was a freshman and had a Personal Record of 26:16. I have now broke my record and ran 25:55.
A little background about myself as a runner:
I ran in high school starting Freshman year in track. Fastest mile was 5:01 and fastest 2 mile was 11:12 freshman year. Sophomore year i broke through by finally running XC and making the varsity team (Best time 18:30's) but resulting in an injury taking me out of the state meet. Track season I come in running only low 4:50's in the mile and 10:30's in the 2 mile.
Junior year I take a stand and step up, The first meet I replaced a teammate in the varsity race because he was sick. (I was the #1 JV guy at that time). So I raced and ended up being the 5th Varsity guy on our team running 17:20's. Since then my times dropped race by race. resulting in a State Runner-up finish of 16:32 with a Team State Champion Title. Track goes alright run low 4:40's in the mile and low 10:00's in the 2 mile.
Senior year myself and 5 other teammates make a stand again Taking the state title and I get another Runner-up finish at state with a 16:23. Track I run my best of 4:34 in the mile and 9:47 in the 2 mile. Getting me to where i am now.
Freshman year of college is a new adjustment, To make a long story short I ran my best race at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational in 2010 with a time of 26:16 (stated above) and make my way on the team to the Big 12 Championship meet and the Regional meet where I ran a 10k of 32:30. Indoor track I run a 3k best of 9:01 and a 5k best of 15:42. Outdoor season sucked as a result of starting a new knee injury.
Sophomore year in college I retained the patellar tendonitis from outdoor season leaving me unable to compete all school year (XC/indoor/outdoor) so nothing new.
This year i have come back swimmingly by improving every race so far. In Omaha, NE I raced XC for the first time in about 1.5 years and run a solid 29:25 (being cautious of how to race again). Our home meet goes a lot better, The Woody-Greeno Invitational In Lincoln, NE I run 26:46 which is decent on the toughness of this course. Then I come back and run 25:55 at the KU Rim Rock Classic yesterday. And this is my story
I GOT BORED.

Re: NEW PR!!!
We have two twins who are getting recruited by MSU for their 15:33
But it's whatever. The sweet. Did you race at MSU earlier this year with a big meet with High schools too?

Re: NEW PR!!!
when you were in high school, what colleges were recruiting you? just curious.
obviously you'll have huge d1 schools since you've got that nigga speed. right now I'm looking at a d3 or smaller d2 school scholarship. I'm pretty cool with the head coach of Capital University, who is probably my top choice right now. I've scheduled a visit with him, I'm practicing with their guys, and my best friend runs there lol. I got offered $10K a year for academics at Trine University, not including cash money for running, which is choice #2. Kentucky Wesleyan's and Walsh University's coaches basically came to me first which is a good sign. Also Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Wesleyan, and the College of Mount St. Joseph have contacted me, but aren't necessarily at that "I want you" stage yet.
i literally made a beRecruited.com profile a week ago, and I've already caught this many schools' eyes. it just got me curious what/how many schools were after Ye Olde Smelly Rebel since you're like way faster than me lol

Re: NEW PR!!!
Actually none... The only D1 school that tried recruiting me was UNL. I applied to Iowa University but they're decent at running and expensive. I wasn't good enough for big schools to look at me. More D2 and D3 schools looked at me. But i'm glad I went D1 with UNL.
