I know most of you cant vote. (LMFAO) but someday you will be able to- during these times most adults find it entertaining to watch the political bickering and character-bashing that occurs. Its the American way! I find it more amusing to watch how a presidential election affects everything else in my daily life (like The Simpsons)- more than ...say, stopping world hunger or achieving world peace!

That being said, I encourage you to show anyone that can vote in your household this clip. If nothing else- at least all you lonely [iS] members can bond with someone other than rage-quitting noobie posers!

I agree, voting is very important to our country and our freedom. I am voting for Barack Obama, although I don't agree with all his views I agree he will be better for our country. For example, all the young people that want to go to college can under Obama. He will give you money to go to school. Mitt Romney says "Borrow money from your parents". In this economy borrowing money for a college tuition is impossible, especially from parents that can barely put food on the table.

When younger people turn 18 you need to sign up for two things. The United States draft Act and sign up to vote. When I was younger I could care less about politics, but things change. Voting is important, doesn't matter which side your on.

Post by [iS] C-Doug Wed Sep 26, 2012 8:25 am

Jay, I respect your view, but I disagree. Obama has spent and spent and spent, but there's no money to pay for it, so we borrow from China. I think the last figure I heard was $15 trillion in debt????? That's insane!! I would hands down vote for Romney, because I don't want my children and my grandchildren to have to pay 70% of their income just so we can wpay off the debt?? And look at his bailout. Nearly all of that money went to the CEO's and Presidents. Not to mention that a big meeting of a lot of world leaders was planned years in advance, not only did he not attend, for the first time in the history of this meeting, but he thought it was more important to make an appearance on The View. Not to mention the fact that he spends the taxpayer's dollars on expensive golf trips. And Joe Biden actually charges the Secret Service agents, who stay at his house to protect him, rent!! He has the nerve to charge them over $1 million/month to protect him! Obama said himself, that if he doesn't fix the economy in 3 years or less, he will be a 1 term president. 4 years later and the economy is still in the toilet. He is actually attacking the freedom of speech now. He is trying to make it illegal to say offensive things about a religion. Seriously, that's a priority of his right now. It's time to go back to a conservative view in the White House.

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Post by faggalog4y Wed Sep 26, 2012 9:02 am

I disagree, the last thing I want to do is pay more taxes so millionaires can have more tax cuts. Also, how can you expect someone to fix something in 4 years when it took 8 years to do? When Bush took office he fucked everything up, the no child left behind act has closed schools and the Patriot act hahaha. I bet people love being listened to all the time. There reading every's text message. Also, don't forget that Romney has created jobs to ship overseas, that is how he makes all his money. By shipping jobs overseas it's making the economy worse.

Also, Romney wants to take Medicare away. I'm not old yet so I'm not worried about it. But think about all the older people that can't work. They won't be able to get their medication because they can't afford it. The point of voting is to vote for the least worse person, if Romney is voted in I see us having another cold war with Russia. If Romney is elected President he will be the RICHEST one we have had in office. Do you know why he doesn't want to show his tax forums? Because he has made millions and only has paid $400 in Fed tax in 2010.

Yes, if your rich and only looking out for the rich then vote Romney. If your the middle class and you want to pay more taxes vote Romney. If you want to live on well fare and not go to college because your parents can't afford vote Romney.

In my opinion Romney is looking out for the rich and only the rich. Remember he doesn't care about the 47% That percent equals college students, WOMEN, veterans, lower class, and the middle class. Don't forget that Obama has been trying to help out America ever since he was in office. There is more than one person to our government. Don't forget the other branches, look at the republican party that has put the brakes on everything. Of course Obama can't do anything if one side of the branch is gridlocked.

Let's look at the war overseas, in my opinion it's a joke. 9/11 was a set up so America can take over oil. Why do you think we have been over there for so long? If you say weapons of mass destruction or terrorist I will laugh. Romney said that he wouldn't end the war even though it has been going on for a decade. I see Romney as an empty suit, he will be put into office to make money and bring back the recession. When the rich become richer the poor become poorer.

Let me ask you a question Doug, besides what you already posted why are you voting for Romney? I have been wanting to ask someone why their voting for him? What do you think he will be able to do better than everyone else? I'm trying to expand my knowledge of the republican party.

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Post by [iS] C-Doug Wed Sep 26, 2012 9:45 am

I would vote for Romney, I can't seeing as though I'm only 16, but I would because Romney has a clue about international relations, he has a strategy for how to do something. Romney would not have sat by and apologize for FREE SPEECH, like Obama did when OUR ambassador was killed by the Muslims over in the Mid-East! I am a firm believer in massive retaliation to discourage anything further. However, that attack was not just a spontaneous reaction to a movie. They had full on assault weapons and RPG's. That attack was pre-meditated and the movie was just an excuse to do it. And what does Obama do? Apologize for free speech. We need SEAL's over there like now. We need troops over there immediately. We need to let them know that we will not tolerate it, and retaliate, even if it destroys relations with that country. I would vote for Romney because this administration is fixing to bankrupt Medicare and Social Security, so that their failure of a ObamaCare package goes through. It is a complete and total failure. It will destroy competition in the private sector. And while I may only be 16, I am well educated on politics haha. This administration has been the most spending administration in history. Obama won't let us drill the oil in this country. He wants us to buy it from other countries. If we were drilling now, gas would be in the $2 range, I'm almost positive about that. Then people could spend that money, thus stimulating the economy and creating jobs, lowering the cost of everything else in the process because shipping would be less with lower gas prices. I'm not okay with people on food stamps and/or wellfare. If you need more money, work more. Don't do drugs. 90% of the time, that's why it didn't work. And I'm not saying that's always how it is, I know there are some who are doing their best, and those are the people I admire. But the people who live off of wellfare and food stamps, they need to get a job and contribute to the GDP. My tax dollars (if I payed them) are funding drug habits. When they take a $20 food stamp, and buy a pack of raisins for $1, the cashier gives them $19 in cash. $19 towards alcohol or drugs most likely, and like I said, there are good people with bad situations, but there are many many more people there because of their choices. Work hard, and you can always do better. Obama is fighting to keep those in place, as well as extend some of them. Not to mention the second amendment. What are your thoughts on the 2nd?

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Post by faggalog4y Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:30 pm

I have to disagree, we deserve what happens to us. We invade countries for oil. People are going to die because of the actions of our own country. Not someone else, I don't believe war is the answer. If it was then why have been at war for a decade?

Also, the reason why people aren't working because Romney, Obama, and other companies shipped thousands of jobs overseas. People can't work if there no jobs. I am assuming you don't know how food stamps work. You can't buy alcohol and smokes, hell you can't even buy toilet paper with it. Would you want someone to start drilling oil in your backyard? That is the reason we haven't started drilling yet, people don't want to lose land by eminent domain.

I believe that this country is screwed either way, the rich run the middle class and the poor. Sooner or later more people are going to die because America thinks they can police the world. The reason why were trillions of dollars in debt because of the wars. Also, don't forget that when Obama came to office the country was already 10 trillion dollars in debt. This was done the Bush administration. Obama has only put us 5 trillion in debt, compared to the 10 that Bush left us. I agree, I don't enjoy being in debt like the next guy. But do you think republicans will fix the debt? Hell no. there going to give millionaires tax cuts, while you Doug lose your money for college. Romney is going to tax your parents and take away college funding so that rich people can wipe their ass with hundreds. I'm sorry, I don't see this being the American way.

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Post by [iS] C-Doug Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:44 pm

And yet, I still believe that republicans (conservatives) who conserve their income and actually publish a budget, will fare much better in helping us out of debt. Personally, I'd be more than happy if they wanted to drill in my backyard, because then I'd be a very rich man. I do understand how they work. You are able to buy food with it, however, the point I was making, is that if you use it and don't spend all of it, you get the difference in cash, which can be used to buy alcohol and smokes. We didn't invade for oil, if we were, why would we be pulling out and not drilling and capturing drills and refineries? We are over there for very specific reasons which is to spread democracy, remove oppressive dictators, and promote education. When is the last time you heard of Americans profiting off of oil we won in the war? If anything, being over there ticked them off, and they raise the price, so the oil argument is purely invalid. This administration has spent its entire funding and the next 2 years into the next term's in the first 2 years of his first term. That's 6 total years of funding, used in 2. He is spending 3 times as much as he has, and is spending it without a care. That is what is sending us further into debt. Stimulus was a failure, bailout was a failure, buying General Motirs was also a failure. The conservatives would have done a much better job in controlling what was given to them, but Obama keeps making an excuse because he "inherited" all these problems. That doesn't mean anything if he passes them along without fixing them.

I have liked what Obama has done with the war situation, I think Romney is to Childish to lead the country have you seen the video of him doing the "Gangnam Style" dance. Not really what I wanted to see by a president. What about Romney talking bad about 47% of Americans, look that up to! Ridiculous he is still in the running, that is just my opinion. I mean Obama didn't do great with the financial situation, but that was because we were so bad in debt before because of past Presidents. America was so bad it will take him 8 years to fix, look back to 2008 and to now and look how much the US have overcome. But my opinions don't matter.

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Post by [iS] smilingdonkie Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:22 am

Guess who's 18th birthday comes just three months after the presidential election? THIS GUY. Great timing, right?

Well, my parents and almost entire family that I know of is conservative. But my sophomore year I had a former college professor who was literally a genius (had a 140 IQ). Anyway, he is super liberal. And not just the type of liberal that hates big companies, only really cares about gay marriage laws, etc. he's the type of liberal that is on the socialist side, where he is for a lot of government intervention, higher taxes, etc. and he had absolutely mind blowing statistics to back up his claims. He literally changed my political views.

But, I can't vote, so none of it matters unfortunately. I would be voting Obama. For one, Romney has never really worked a day in his life being born into a multimillionaire family. A country of the people, by the people, for the people shouldn't be represented through a man whose parents bought him everything. Obama is from south Chicago. Enough said.

I'm for higher taxes on the rich, too. What conservatives don't get is that there is this thing called Trickle Down Economics, and it DOES NOT WORK!!!! TDE is basically lowering taxes on the rich so that they will have more spending money, magically stimulating the economy. Lol. Rich people are still rich because they don't immediately blow the money they earn. They save it. So, it makes no sense that we are relying on Scrimping rich people to spend the money we are giving them (so many messed up things in that plan). Ronald Reagan used it, and (I don't have the exact statistic, but) the national debt went up by a big percent. George Bush did it when he was in office, and literally ruined our chances of erasing the debt (Clinton made taxes at 29% I believe, and was on pace to erases the entire debt in 10 years.... 2008. Then bush came along, switched up Clinton's plan, lowered taxes to around 22%, and we went into another depression.

Also, the national defense budget. Romney wants to put more money into it. IS HE RETARDED!? Last time I checked, the last war on American soil was the civil war, which had nothing to do with needing a national defense anyway, since it was a civil war. Every war since has been in another country. So, why do we need to spend over $250 billion (george Bush) on a defense of the country? Nobody is stupid enough to invade America, and no county has any reason to. The only thing that is a threat is a nuke from somewhere, which, if we are getting fucking nuked, the number of tanks we have doesn't matter at all. It's such a waste of money. Why not spend more on schooling to lower tuition (Another thing Obama is for, because he knows how much it sucks to pay student loans, unlike Romney, who basically was able to afford every penny of tuition)

Rant over. I could go on but I chose to not further offend any of you conservatives.

One more thing though:
Always remember, the more educated you are, the more liberal you are.

If you don't then you won't be able to vote. This is crazy, they can't deny someone if they want to vote. It's our right as a citizen.

I think all your points are valid. What we as Americans fail to see is that there is a bigger agenda that is hidden from public opinion. In fact, the last 3 presidents have made it painfully clear to me that the Presidency itself is a puppet-position of power. Sadly, I sound like a conspiracist (if you will) rather than a realist! I've been eligible to and voted the last 2 primary elections- not once did I expect anything to change overnight. I have more common ideas with Democrats than Republicans - but I do agree with a few points Gov. Romney has made. However, Obama sold me on "CHANGE" in 2008 and that change wont happen in 1 term/4 years in the puppets seat. Yes, he never told me he would change my 2nd amendment right to bear arms - but I had no intentions of going hunting with or owning an assault riffle - in the first place. Thats why I pay my income taxes that in-turn pay for the police dept. At the time the 2nd amendment was written it was meant as a deterrence to tyrannical governments like the one that they (the founders of these United States) had escaped and fought against (the American revolution). If anyone suggests that our government is moving towards becoming a self-serving tyranny...then thats a whole other issue. I cant disagree more, which is why I vote.

Obama vs Romney Empty Re: Obama vs Romney

Well I'm not going to say very much because I don't have enough time today to say everything I think about the elections, but I would vote for Romney for a few reasons (even though they are both bad choices imo). I'm not really talking much about the election in what I am about to say, but luke brought something on my mind when he said something about the national defense that my world geography teacher was telling us about today..He was talking about how Iran is planning on nuking Israel and how the guy in charge at Israel asked Obama to meet with him. Obama refused. My teacher started talking about how if Iran does bomb Israel, it could lead to a world war III.....within the next 6 months......What we were talking about is that if Iran does bomb Israel and we do not help Israel to destroy the nuclear facility that Israel may turn against us (or something along these lines, sorry i dont have the best memory) and when those 2 countries go into war, Russia may try help Iran and we may help Israel or something like that..and then if WE need help our allies great britain may come into play also....I realize that much of what I have said may not make since, but it made great since when my teacher was explaining everything to us. So tommorrow if he talks about it more, I'm going to write it all down and then share about it with yall. Also I believe that Obama rejected Israels meeting invitation because he does not want to get in a war during the election because that would make him look bad to many people...but i suspect after the election....we could be in a major war....sorry bout this not being much about the presidential election, but i thought my geography teacher made a good point and I thought i would share it. Smile

A drivers license in the State of New Hampshire is 50 dollars. Needing an I.D, to vote is retarded! Since your a teen and don't worry about paying bills that seems like easy cash.
