Voting Process

Post by faggalog4y on Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:55 am

hey guys, I just want to start out by saying that the voting process takes way to long. We have a tryout that has been going on for three weeks almost. We need to fix this system because voting on a tryout shouldn't take that long. I know it because people haven't been on so we should consider changing the system when less people are on. i don't want it to take two-three weeks to vote on a tryout.

Here are some ideas to help speed up the process
-Lower the number of votes needed to get in or out of the clan. This way when leaders aren't on in the beginning of the year it won't take as long to push someone through the tryout process.
-After a week the application will automatically be approved and the new RIT will have a week to prove whether their fit for the clan or not. This way we aren't waiting for someone to vote on the trial.

I am up for ideas, we need to be able to do tryouts and get them voted on ASAP. We don't want people to be stuck in the limbo process of voting. The clan should find other ways to let people know in a timely fashion if their in the clan or not. As usual open for ideas. Thanks guys!

I have to agree fully, it takes way to long and honestly if I was a want to be member of this clan I may go elsewhere because i'm just naturally so impatient. In the last clan I was in they did their tryouts differently (I like the way we do our but theirs was really effective and quick). In their tryout they would have 6 players trying out play against 6 clan members in a private match of kill confirmed or TDM or whatever, after the game the 6 members decided who made it and who didn't. It was really quick and really nice.

Re: Voting Process

Post by [iS] Noxious on Wed Sep 05, 2012 2:54 pm

Ive wanted to push an idea similar to the ones mentioned above for a while.
Months ago I proposed incorporating a 1v1 or private match. Ive also thought about making a review recruitment program. Basically, hold all incoming recruits in training to develop and distinguish "who's who" within our own roster in the clan.

By this I mean, Elite members and above - play with the clan and go back into the footage to not only watch members but identify strengths and weaknesses as they see them.

This might stir up a pot of shit BUT - IF everyone maintains a level head and take the constructive criticism in a positive light. It might work wonders for our clan-strength as a whole.

To set up a system of "checks and balances"- every member that volunteers to be "reviewed" could receive apromotion to the next level above their own. (IF the leadership agrees) - The catch is - you cannot be reviewed by the member that recruited you/did your tryout - AND - upon the completion of the review, a new thread in the strategy section should be posted where the senior member posts his in-depth analysis (satisfactory to the leadership) and the member reviewed also commits to the review as they see fit. The clan is open to comment on the review and a general discussion concerning his strengths and weaknesses are bounced back and fourth - so that everyone learns from everyone else's mistakes.

Also - this idea can be incorporated automatically, without the knowledge of the gamer reviewed. That is - as a leader of this clan. Ive made time to review the tape once in a while, just to see how we lost or won. Often times - were just out skilled. Other times, we just overpower pub lobbies.

Keep in mind, this idea and anything that is added to it...has to be in the overall BEST interest of the clan. No 1 man is above the other - this is just an idea to strengthen our weakest links.

Afterall, were only as strong as our weakest link.

I like nox's idea. I feel a group tryout and Group RIT sessions would be effective. Its hard keeping track of who is even in the PS3 division now... cuz people still dont add me and it erks me. I'd like to play with the RIT's but if they dont add me how can i?

The only issue I see with this, is the attempt to check the person-being-reviewed's weaknesses and strengths. Theater mode does not allow for a 1st person view of a teammate, let alone an opponent. I love everything else about this idea; it's great. But there is still the issue of trying to see the player to see what they can improve on and what is good, but of course still has room for improvement.

Re: Voting Process

Post by [iS] Noxious on Wed Sep 05, 2012 10:01 pm

Well the reason for the vote - is to keep the vote of majority first and foremost. Its kinda the way its been done since the begining, we can tweak it to less votes required but - what if:

1. Every tryout needs 5 "Yes" votes to be a RIT.

-but for every "No" vote- they need 1 more "Yes"

2. Elite members may vote *ONLY* in the event of a TIE or all leaders have voted and more "Yes" or "No" votes are required to keep the 5:1 ratio

*the point of having at least 5 "Yes" votes is so at least the RIT has 5 other members aware of their RIT status and "all eyes are on them" so to speak. I didnt have to explain that but - in the effort to keep everyone in the loop.*

3. We dont want gamers that are impatient and are not able to wait the appropriate time to let ALL members be aware of their *NEW* membership. (This is to keep a close community)

I agree waiting to see if people are patient, but making them wait a couple of weeks because the voting process is still going on. That is waiting to long to see if the player is being accepted into the clan. I think five votes is a good idea. I don't agree with a no vote will require another yes vote.

Re: Voting Process

Post by Twitch on Wed Sep 05, 2012 10:04 pm

I honestly think, we should have a point system.

Trent being 4 and luke being 4
Nox and em being 3
Co leaders and div leaders 2
And elites 1

You need idk like 12-15 points to get it or something like that. I think it would most definately would speed things up and is actually quite relative to the power of the votes.

I also think that the points could be based on the kills and deaths. Let's say 3. Take total kdr from all games and subtract it from 3 Let's say say they had 1.6 kdr they would have to get 14 points.

That's pretty simple but something's gotta change.

I'm liking, yet disliking the "5 votes, +1 because of a no." While this could speed up the process, it could also slow it due to the +1 because of the no. Unless I'm thinking about it wrong, and then they just dont get in if they have a no and 5 votes. I'm confused now -__-

I think we can change it to around 5 votes but at least 2 leaders need to vote on the tryout before acceptance no matter how many votes?

I think that's acceptable?
