Internet Question

Hey guys, so I was thinking that we would make new members do a internet connection test. Just because sometimes we might have two people that have bad connections, we would have to split them up so it doesn't lag the room, I believe testing the connection would be in our favor, if they have a terrible connection then we wouldn't want them to. I say we put www.speedtest.net on the app and then they can do the test. Once the test is done they can post the results on the web. This way we can weed out the good and bad connections.

I am tired of lagging guys, I know it's COD and sometimes is hard to avoid. But I want members with good connections, not crap connections. What do you guys think? Ideas?

I think to weed people out because they can't afford the best connection is the worst thing a cod clan can do. I'd take a 2.0 2 bar connection kinda laggy then a .8 4bar connection anyday.

I agree JJ, I mentioned this in another thread but I got no feedback. Basically, THE WORST thing is to play in lag and when I play with 2 members of this clan (nameless) - I just cant do it. I get frustrated and Id rather go away.

I like the speedtest.com test but how will everyone know what the results mean.

The results are simple, I am able to tell if the connection is good or bad. You don't need a lot to play online games. You only need a certain amount to not lag. But I was hoping to make these tests mandatory because I am tired of playing with lag. I want our members to be able to have a decent connection to play with the clan. Broadband internet is what we need, which is DSL or Cable. I understand that sometimes lag is out of the control of our members, but their connections are NOT.

I think this should be put into play immediately!

I am not asking for the best connection Twitch, I am asking for people to have a good connection so they don't red bar the whole game. If we have 1 person that is red bar the whole game, then the compensation will have to work harder and make us lag more.

Go to speedtest.net and test your connection and post the results.

Yea when we were playing earlier i noticed bdeezey had a 1 bar. is that a reason why i was doing shitty that one round?

Not sure this is a good idea. We're not snobby people who single out the less fortunate. Maybe, if we do this, just not let that person be the party leader, it shouldn't be a factor in their membership.

Also, I am not saying base the connection off of someone getting in the clan or not. I just think we should be able to take a look at their connection speed. See if their speed is able to handle games, for example ground war. I don't believe we should kick people because of connections. But when one player connections is effecting the whole team, it sucks.

I understand what your saying, and I agree that lagging sucks. Just as long as we don't start not letting people in because of their financials. Still don't know bout this bro. We'll see what everybody thinks!

Many things can affect a person internet and they red bar. I'm not saying it's because their internet is crap. Many things can be a easy fix when internet is messing up. Maybe they might be downloading porn and watching Netflix at the same time. This will most likely make a person red bar, I just think people should do a speedtest when they first come into the clan. It's free and the only thing they would have to do is post the results.

preciate it. The more i think about it the more I lean to your side cause i could see not wanting somebody with like ABSOLUTE crap speed to join. But i still dont know cause it would be awful to not let someone in just cause they cant afford better internet. but im sure you understand that as well, jay. so i understand that that is not your intentions.
